Kent Snyder, RIP

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

I was shocked to receive an email today regarding the death of Ron Paul’s campaign chairman, Kent Snyder. I met Snyder when I was in Iowa campaigning in January, and he was a very personable guy from what I could tell in the brief time we crossed paths. I’ve been waiting for the perfect piece [...]

“We must remember, elections are short-term efforts. Revolutions are long-term projects.” — Congressman Ron Paul
Ron Paul has now said he is focused on continuing to further the message of liberty rather than continuing his presidential campaign (although he will continue to contest primaries and collect delegates). Everyone is wondering what’s next– could Ron Paul’s [...]

Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson Hates Blogs

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson gave an interview for the December issue of Texas Monthly in which she decried independent journalists and bloggers in response to the question, “What are the chances that the Republicans will keep the White House?”:
“It will be a close race, and the purple states are the states that will really [...]

Reagan’s Birthday

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

“Libertarianism is the heart and soul of conservatism.”
That quote becomes more interesting when you find out that Ronald Reagan said it in 1975. Today would have been Reagan’s birthday. Why not sit back and listen to a vintage Reagan speech and decide which candidate is most like him among today’s GOP candidates (I’ll give you [...]

For a few months (since the beginning of my site), I’ve had a page in the sidebar warning America (and the world, for that matter) about “Rudy Giuliani, Tax and Spend Liberal.” I’m glad to say that the T&SL has dropped out of the race– he was by far the worst candidate running, and I’m [...]

What Type of Taxpayer Are You?

Monday, January 28th, 2008

I just received an email from Amazon.com with the subject line, “What Type of Taxpayer Are You?”
It reads: “Click on The Office characters above to determine what kind of taxpayer you are and match you personality to the right software product.”
Apparently the options are:

EZ Breezy Filer
Fancy Filer
Procrastinator
Extender
Typical Taxpayer

Amazon conveniently doesn’t provide the option [...]

Ron Paul Knocks It Out of the Park

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

I thought these pictures were appropriate to elaborate further on my last post. Ron Paul was apparently the star of the Congressional baseball team in the 1980s, as well as being good friends with baseball legend Nolan Ryan.

Credit for the photos goes to this blog.

Ron Paul Wows in South Carolina

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

I was reading a fringe blogger today, who called Congressman Ron Paul “a fringe candidate” without mentioning him by name. That’s really amazing that a “fringe candidate” could come 3% away from placing 3rd in the first two major primaries of the election season.
I’ve had a couple different people tell me this week [...]

I called in to a radio show this week and spoke with Jim Gilchrist, who started the Minutemen along with Chris Simcox and has so oddly endorsed Mike Huckabee for president.
I’m new to calling in to radio shows, and I’ve learned something new every time. This time, I learned that when you are on the [...]
