What happens when a city passes a law that violates a state law– a state law which, in turn, violates federal law?
In a case that has “long legal battle” written all over it, Sausalito, California might just find out. It’s banned medical marijuana dispensaries, establishments approved by both state and city voters by referendum– a referendum which of course goes against the DEA.
