So, Senator Ted Kennedy is receiving an $8 million advance for his autobiography. Since everyone’s favorite Kennedy has built a career from the votes of working-class Americans, and since he has so much empathy for the segment of Americans who, for example, make only the minimum wage, it will be absolutely fantastic when the Senator donates $7.5 million or more of that $8 million advance to charities benefiting poor people.
Senator Kennedy is so eager, after all, for Americans to pay for children to get health care that I’m sure he wants to do the same with his own money. Alternatively, he could donate his windfall to drunk driving prevention programs and prevent that type of tragedy from ever happening again.
I can’t wait for your announcement, Senator Kennedy.
